Queensland is in the
north-east of the country. 1 727 200 km², 3 112 600 inhabitants, the capital City is Brisbane.
Symbols of Queensland are the Rainforest (some of the trees are
over 3000 years old) and the Great barrier reef.
The latter is a 2000 Km long stretch of reefs ( 400
different kinds of corals ) along the edge Queensland's continental shelf.
The "Gold
Coast" (superb Pacific beaches) and the "Sunshine coast", offer sun,
sand, surf and sailing (Surfers'paradise).
In the north is the "Sugar Coast" so called because of sugar cane
plantations around.
From Heron
island, an island on the reef, up through the beautiful
Whitsundays to the exotic Orpheus Island, every island offers a different slice of paradise for a memorable holiday.
Queensland islands are waiting in the
sun and the water for you. |
