Perth, Western Australia capital city, 1 221 300 inhabitants, is the most isolated metropolis in the world (Adelaide, the nearest city is 2800 km far away). It was founded in 1829 on the Swan River.

The settlement wasn't at first prosperous and in 1850, a convict labour force was sent to build many public amenities before transportation was abolished.

Today, Perth's attractions include museums, galleries, casinos, theatres, festivals, and is called "The California of the 60s".

With its perfect climate -very warm but tempered by a gentle sea breeze-, are the magnificent wildflowers of the Southwest.

It is the world capital of sailing -Australia II, an American Cup winner.
